Description

The Takahashi Mewlon-180C is the most compact model in the acclaimed Mewlon series, delivering Takahashi's legendary optical performance in a lightweight and highly portable package. Featuring a precision-engineered Dall-Kirkham Cassegrain optical system, the Mewlon series is renowned for its exceptional contrast, sharpness, and resolution, making it an outstanding choice for lunar, planetary, and deep-sky observing.

The optical design incorporates a meticulously figured ellipsoidal primary mirror and spherical secondary mirror, with optical surfaces finished to an accuracy of at least λ/20. This high level of precision produces crisp, high-contrast images with excellent detail, allowing the telescope to perform exceptionally well under steady seeing conditions.

With a 180 mm aperture and f/12 focal ratio, the Mewlon-180C is particularly well suited for high-magnification visual observing and planetary imaging. At the same time, its generous light-gathering capability makes it an excellent performer on a wide variety of deep-sky objects, including globular clusters, planetary nebulae, and compact galaxies.

Despite its optical performance, the Mewlon-180C remains remarkably compact and lightweight, allowing it to be comfortably paired with medium-capacity equatorial mounts for easy transport and quick setup. Precision focusing is achieved by smoothly translating the primary mirror, providing fine control for both visual observation and astrophotography.

For added convenience, the telescope is equipped with an adjustable 6×30 finder scope, which also serves as a practical carrying handle during transport. The Mewlon-180C is supplied with both male and female Vixen-style dovetail plates, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of Vixen-standard mounting systems.
